I have an odd thing happening with my iMac. When I drag a file to the trash can, from the local HD, it instantly deletes. I have re-installed the OS, ran disk utility & I have checked a lot of different forums, tried a number of terminal commands but it still does the same thing. Anyone seen this issue before?

I have an Adobe InDesign document that I need to move into Adobe Illustrator. I export a PDF out of InDesign - and open it in Illustrator. When opening the files I get the warning "To preserve appearance, some text has been outlined". Does anyone know of a way to disable this "feature"?

We have been running Prinect with a MetaDimension Rip for a while - but were having a lot of issues with spot colors. We have since "upgraded" to the Renderer Rip. This seems to be helping our spot color issues - but there is a real lack of a user interface in rend. Does anyone have positive experiences with the Rend?

We have installed ExtremeZ-IP to help with file name length on our Windows2003 server. Having a significant slowdown when trying to browse to find files. Anybody know if this is a common thing with ExtremeZ-IP or should I look someplace else for the culprit?

Curious what software folks are using for tracking archived disks. We have used disk tracker for years - but it does not update modification dates when scanning disks. I was hoping to find something better.

We have a new item that prints with screens of PMS 8602 - some are set to around 90%. We are sheetfed - printing on SBS.

I am trying to determine if we would be better off to just run as our normal Paragon Organic screen - to allow our press operators to have more control - or would concentric screening give more consistent result.

How much would you cut back the screen if running concentric?

I have a customer that has submitted a PSTI file for us to run (5/c). Unfortunately we have to outsource the printing. The printer cannot use PSTI files. I have exported out a DCS2 - the printer does not like that either. The file is all linework - I tried to convert to a PDF - but it did not separate out correctly.

Any ideas of how to help this printer out?

I have a file that uses multiple Illustrator created drop shadows. They were created with the document raster effects at 72 dpi.  When converting the document raster effects it is making the drop shadows much darker. I had a work around a number of years ago - but cannot recall it. Can anyone assist?
