Got almaink to thank for this site, from memory, but shall post reminders for the Tech Night Owl Newsletter if it shows stuff of particular interest, which it often does. This week there's the author's summing up of where he thinks Microsoft is headed.

Nice link Frailer/Alma and a fairly well balanced article
It's not clear what's gonna kill MS, but if it happens I won't be surprised
Did anyone notice the Microsoft death watch story amongst the older articles?

Oh that?
Yea I read that :ninja:
Ninja don't need no stinking glasses!!
...but seriously folks, I see a few things that could happen to hasten micro$oft's demise:
Windose 7 is as big a flop as Vista.
Current crop of PCs become obsolete and need replacing.
Apple releases a PeeCee version of OSX.

Is that even possible?
I could be wrong, it happens a lot  , but I don't see Apple ever releasing their grip on the hardware they alone control. If they release a PeeCee version of OS X why would anyone buy their more expensive hardware, which is a big deal to them not to mention the support headaches? (See: Microsoft VISTA trying to be everything to everyone and having to write drivers for about a bazillion different hardware products.)
I can't see Microsoft going anywhere in my lifetime. There are just too many PC drones out there that will keep buying Windows PC's because they are deathly afraid of trying anything else.
I agree.

I don't see it happening either, Joe, but peecee people would have to have some attractive alternative operating system that would be compatible with all their bean counting software and label printers.
