Picked this up from the local Fuji guys here. Am using Black Magic, so not sure how this would work in other proofing systems. We don't have a ROOM proofing licence, as the way we use BM, don't require it; (the subtleties are lost on me, but I can find out).
It involves dragging the ROOM proofing icon in, setting up some blueline stuff, then putting ROOM on Hold.
Then, a couple of settings to tweak in BM, so it can output. When the job renders in XMF, there's no plate to let go accidentally. The workaround is a non-event for plate output, so safe.
Have to set for each job, if you want it, but only a few clicks here and there. Now getting dashed trims, knocking out, in 100M10K. No more rule ups on large page count, heavy ink coverage jobs.
Let me know if anyone wants more detail.
