Is this possible? I've got a Canva PDF that has a cmyk build that they would like a Xerox Specialty Ink color mixed with to produce a custom orange. Unfortunately some of the art is raster so I have no idea how to fix this completely.
Sounds like you want to color something with CMYK+Spot? Not sure if Pitstop does that, but my version is pretty old. You should be able to achieve the same result with Overprints, I would think.
For the raster part, you'll probably have to edit the image in Photoshop to add a Spot Channel.
Here's another way - create a new InDesign document and build your multi-ink swatch there. Draw a box, fill it with your multi-ink, export PDF. Open that PDF, copy the box and paste it into the PDF you want to change. Now you have that multi-ink in the PDF and can use "change specific color" global to change things to that color.
in the webinar a couple weeks ago they used the trace action
can you trace it and then as a vector you can make it the color you want?
then delete the orig? going to depend on if anything is touching it I guess.
you talkin Canva so I'm sure its a problem
As soon as I saw Canva, I kinda thought, Nope, not gunna be able to do anything with it.

can be done in Pitstop, but it's been a few years, so don't quote me on that. In Acrobat, to add the spot channel, right-click on the raster image and choose the,
edit in Photoshop option (not sure exactly how it's worded). Make certain you have gone to Acrobat preferences first and have the latest edition of Photoshop chosen as your image editor. It will open in Photoshop with an odd file name; Then you add the spot channel and close out (click save - it will update the embedded image in Acrobat). Can't confirm this works with a Canva pdf.
You can't make a mixed Ink Swatch in PitStop, BUT!
If you have a PDF file with a mixed ink in it, you can save/grab that color to the Color Picker and also to the color panel in the Inspector.
Then you can use it just as you would a normal color and add it or color map it etc.
You can't edit the mixed swatch of course
