Late to the party on this one but don't forget all printing places prefer a Publisher file.

*UPDATE*  Problem Solved.

As suggested by Stiv setting the output to Divide solved the problem and now we are able to label each flat sent over separately.  Thanks.

That's what I'm thinking at this point.

Probably haven't modified it.  I do put the name of the flat I want example.  Job1234_FlatA.  When I view it at the RIP it just comes through as Job1234.   Hmm, I'll have to mess around with the profile.

Which version of Preps do you have?  Plus, Pro?

Thanks that's it.  The Print File ID box is not popping up for me.  Maybe time for a reinstall.

Oops, meant Leopard.  Is there supposed to be a box that pops up that allows me fill in the comment field?

We are using OS X Snow Leopard.  The files are already imposed in Preps 5.5.3.  I hit print and the print dialogue comes up.  I print over to the RIP and all of the flats have the same name.  It doesn't allow me to name each flat separately as I send them over 1 at a time.

Kodak Preps / Preps 5.3.3 naming problem
July 30, 2009, 11:24:43 AM
At the paper I work for we send over 1 flat (4-up) pages at a time.  In the version of Preps we were using we were able to send 1 flat over at a time with the ability to label each flat going over to RIP as a designated letter.  In the Preps 5.3.3 we are unable to do this so each flat is sent over with the same name making it confusing trying to figure out which flat is which.  Thanks for any help.

We are getting hit pretty good here in PA.  However compared to last January it's about the same.  So that's not too bad.  Even so we just had "the talk" last Tuesday.  All full time employees will now work no longer than 32 hours a week.  No 401k match and no raises.  The good news is for anyone else in a similar boat you may still qualify for partial Unemployment Compensation.  So look into that if you had your hours cut.

Ah yes, you are correct and that was the problem.  Thanks so much!

OK, that's not it.  That would only effect how it appears on the monitor.  This is actually changing the text, photos, etc. to a different shade of black.  Very puzzled here.

That might be it.  I will check tomorrow when I get to work.  Thanks.

I have a co-worker who is opening pdf files in Acrobat 8 Pro on Mac OS 10.4.11 and when she opens them the file opens and then within 20-30 seconds the entire pdf turns to a lighter shade of gray than it was when she first opens it.  I have checked this file with PitStop and find that the original she is opening is indeed 100% black text but after she opens and saves the file it is 67% gray.  Any idea what is going on?  Is it executing some sort of preflight upon opening?  If I open these files on my Mac this does not happen.  It is only her Mac and only in version 8.  Any thoughts?  Thanks for your help.
