I've done this a few times using color guide in Illustrator:

Enfocus / find objects that overprint
June 03, 2019, 11:31:31 AM
Need help with an action - I'm trying to make an action to find objects that overprint, but instead it's finding all the objects that DO overprint? Any idea what I'm missing here - See Attached. Also, on PitStop 12. I guess the more I think about it, If the action would overlook Black, that would be great too...

Fantastic! Thanks! lol - I was using the wrong search term when searching the actions - slug, marks, bars, color...

Yep - Or more specific, outside the bleed box & inside the media box. The screen grab was basically the top right corner of the pdf. It wouldn't bother me, if the full Pantone name was there instead of just the number.

Enfocus / Color Slug info

Is there an action that would add color info outside of the trim area? Our Esko workflow will do it, but since I'm digital printing on an Indigo, I don't want to add that process.  Any thoughts or is there maybe an Acrobat profile? See attached for an example.
And I'm still on PitStop 12...

Adobe Photoshop / Re: Deep Etching services?

I did an internship here back in the 90's:
https://www.etched-metal.com
I remember doing some guitar amplifier tags that were maybe .125 thick, then acid relief etched to about half that. Really cool stuff.

I don't know if it helps, but someone has wrote a javascript for indd to build a crossword puzzle here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/329368
There's a download all the way at the end of the thread. I tried & it "Works", but they didn't put any notations in the script, so customizing & editing might be a ton of "fun".

I see it comes with fonts still - I wonder if it will be the same ol' Bitstream fonts from 1990? I really been needing to use Zurich more...

Macintosh / Re: applescript to automator workflow...

It was a thought maybe...
Have you seen this?:

There's some automator stuff here, but still under construction I guess:

on your locked pdf, usually you can open & resave out of preview to unlock, or buy the PDFKey Pro app.

Macintosh / Re: applescript to automator workflow...

I'm not sure if this would help or not, but I use a ABFR (A Better Finder Rename) to do pretty much the reverse of what you're doing. Basically, rename a file based on the folder name. With it, I've made a few droplets where all I do is drop my file on it, and it will rename to the same name as the folder it's in, plus add a few other things for my workflow. It's really great, you can string together multiple actions for renaming & a boat load of other stuff.

Macintosh / Re: Automator New Folder and Subfolders?
January 29, 2019, 02:17:11 PM
Not an expert with automator - It seem like I do things with automator like one a year... I think this might be what you want:
https://www.macworld.com/article/2038095/5-automator-workflows-everyone-should-have.html
Go to the section "Create subfolder"
You then can create a automator service, so you can right click on a folder to run that service to make your sub folders in it.
Watch out! I was playing around and didn't select check "ignore input" as it says there, when it the copied a few thousand files from my path into in it - Yikes!

I believe this would work for you.  If your set of 1, 2, 3 or 4 pdf's have the same code and in the same position, then it would save each as it's own pdf. No expert on this, just got this myself...

you might be able to do the tag to bookmark to spit shown here too depending on your pdf:
