Locked folders

Operator A sets up job on Mac A on server, operator B tries to copy job to different folder error pops up you do not have sufficient privileges to copy this folder bla bla bla. Folder appear locked somehow.

Folder appear with a red circle with a white dash through it, what's going on?

You have a permissions problem. You the sender or him the receiver need to change permissions. Say he gets the file, he needs to do a Apple-I on the folder, and add himself/computer name as a user with full privileges. You then need to click on the icon underneath that looks like the Empire logo and apply the changes to all enclosed items.

He could also make a new folder and place the contents of the sent folder into it. This works on occasion as well.

The easiest thing is to make them all log in to the server with the same user name and password which gives everyone the same set of permissions.

Found the issue, he swears he always logs in as guest. Had him open his keychain and checked his login....Admin :banghead:

Wish I would've checked that sooner, sometimes trust is a bad thing.

I have had folders and files act locked but I found if the folder/file is previewing in Cover Flow it acts locked. I have learned to just switch to List View and it unlocked the folder/file.
