Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but you can right-click on the QR code and scroll down to "Edit QR Code".

I'm going with Adobe. Worked fine before the update, but not after and works fine now that I've restored it prior to the update. Pitstop is up-to-date. It will probably turn into Enfocus having to fix like the last problem with the handles disappearing.

Adobe Acrobat / Adobe at it again?
January 14, 2022, 08:18:07 AM
Acrobat DC update 21.011.20039 from the past couple days seems to have hosed my ability to unmask masked items. The option is no longer available. Anyone else having this issue? I used Time Machine to revert back by a week and it's all good now. Also turned off the automatic update option in Preferences.

ABC-

I stripped out all the text except for the offending code.

Have at it!

Thanks all,

I did find that by optimizing the file and turning on the "Discard all comments, forms and multimedia" option, that the text disappears as well. We'll never get the Indy files, since there are so many layers to the organization supplying the PDFs. Oh well, something to get burned on in the future.

Thanks again.

I can't post my file due to legal issues and all that jazz.

Adobe Acrobat / Disappearing Text
June 04, 2014, 03:21:09 PM
Hi guys,

i have an unusual problem. PDF supplied by client (Adobe InDesign Server CS4). Goes into Rampage or Prinergy and one code disappears (same code on 2 pages) when the file is ripped. It prints fine from the originating PDF, incidentally.

Turn on Separations Preview and the code disappears.

The code is black, by the way. And it cannot be selected at all using Pitstop.

It is a layered PDF, but the code still shows when all the layers are turned off.

The workaround is to make a PS of the PDF, distill that and only then does the text become editable, and also "rippable" in either Prinergy or Rampage. What sucks about this is that the PDF originates from a company whose lawyers mandate that we not touch their PDFs at all for any reason.

The code, when it is distilled, is: HelveticaNeueLTW1G-CN, and is a Type 1 font.

Any ideas what's causing this? I've looked some on the web but haven't found anything that hasn't already been troubleshot to death.

Thanks,

General Prepress / Re: Proof reading/copy editing
April 11, 2013, 04:05:25 PM
We do hard copy as well, each page stamped with a Proofreading stamp. We have our own proofreader. Once the pages are marked up, the client gets them. It's amazing the changes that get Stetted. It's also funny how many times the client misspells their own product.

RAMpage / Re: Pantone+ and Rampage

T-Pat,

And you've had no problems with client's files going wonky in your workflow?

I think I remember a time when stuff like this was released first to the RIP manufacturers before unleashing it in the wild, forcing us peons to deal with it.

A-hem,

Thanks, Joe, for posting the link.

Have people replaced their Pantone libraries and reverted back to the previous libraries?

Thanks, T-Pat. I saw that post, but read it again. It simply can't be easy, like, Rampage sending a patch.

RAMpage / Pantone+ and Rampage
February 26, 2013, 01:08:57 PM
Hi all,

Has anyone had issues with Adobe CS6 and Pantone+ colors that RIP as blank pages in Rampage? Running Rampage 11.3.0build40 here, with a total PDF workflow.

I know that if we change the Pantone+ mode from LAB to CMYK, the file rips fine. But it's a total PITA to chase down any and all placed logos to clear out those colors.

Thanks in advance

Quark Xpress / Re: Need quark file downsaved to version 8

I've been around for a while, just don't post much as much as I should. A few of those ought to loosen me up a bit, though. Got any Jever or Kölsch (both German) in there?

Sadly, we have to keep up-to-date on the Quark versions, so we've got them all. I do keep them totally segregated on my dock from the more worthy apps.
