pretty sure ive done this before but im mentally defective this morning.

need to spec a different paper source for even pages on a variable data/uncollated ncr job.

Job source is a 1000 page pdf output, already merged

as im typing this i remembered the record limit setting, going to try that now.

any suggestions?

Found this on the Fiery forum:

Set the Mixed Media up, p1 to tray1, p2 to tray2. Then enable the "Define Record Length" (on the VDP tab) and set the "Pages Per Record=2", and the Mixed media will then repeat every two pages.

Thanks, what was happening was i had a freeform master selected, it wouldnt allow the "set record length" option. that fixed it right away.

again, a client "helping me out" by doing a data-only merge in one file, and a master in another.
