Would anyone know if a "newish" (couple of years old) digital printer (Konica Minolta 1070) would process PDF/VT files?

We only have the basic controller named "Job Centro", not a full rip.

I am wondering if we're going to see any speed increases ripping the large 4 color variable jobs.

I can't seem to find any info out there about this.

QuoteThere are 3 different flavors of PDF/VT:

PDF/VT-1 – With PDF/VT-1 all the layout data and variable data are embedded in one single file. This is the most straightforward: there is one single PDF file and it contains all of the data you need for output.
PDF/VT-2 – With PDF/VT-2 the main PDF file can reference to additional external PDF objects. One of the advantages of linking to additional files is that it becomes easier to create very large datasets.
PDF/VT-2s – With PDF/VT-2 live streaming is supported. This allows segmented sections of data to be processed.

Depends on which type of PDF/VT you have I would think.
I would think a VT-1 would print anywhere, whereas a 2 or 3 may need a RIP with VDP.

Pretty sure it's PDF/VT-1, and we did a test and it does seem to rip quite a bit faster.
