Quote from: Skryber on July 21, 2011, 09:33:22 PMWe have this IT guy who gets so excited when you bring in computer parts. I brought him a tote of old parts and it was like Christmas for him. I can't wait to go through all my shit. I'm giving it all to him. I have an entire closet filled. His wife is gonna kill me. Haha!

I just assumed because you said getting a box of 'puter parts was like Xmas for him.

When I see a box of 'puter parts it's like Kwanzaa in July.

A lot of people here at work have brought in old computers, monitors, etc for the recycling day on Saturday. I have my car loaded up with stuff I can make use of. I got a Dell PC and monitor which is a lot faster and newer than what I am using for my test web server at home. Plus a nice set of PC speakers with a big ol' subwoofer. It better than my cheap speakers at home. So it's been like Christmas for me here this week too. My wife will be so pleased.

No, I did not take the G3 iMacs!

Where do you think the subject of this post has been living for the last 8 months or so? Our garage! I had the best intentions to make it into a kickass modded gaming rig but it just wasn't worth the the effort, or expense. Oh well.
A little diddie 'bout black 'n cyan...two reflective colors doin' the best they can.

Ok, so I'm the only one that goes looking in the computer bin at the local recycling center.

My other job

We don't really have a local recycling center with a computer bin. My wife is grateful for that.

FYI, Goodwill takes in computer stuff for recycling, no charge. Better than dumpstering it.

i stockpile a bunch of crap with the best intentions, but by the time i get to it, its lost its magic.  its like the old hardware gets to rest in my garage for a year or so before it gets tossed.

Ditto. Cake vs pie will be a forever fight, but I think we can all agree on the glorious awesomeness of Office Space.
