had a power outage yesterday, it hosed my HP1055cm+. it boots, passes self test, but then it gets about 10" into a print then goes into printhead alignment mode, then freezes up.

it will successfully complete the alignment when picked from the service menu, but for whatever reason, it keeps re-entering it during a print, but freezes, and then i have to power it off to get it back.

tried/checked everything i could, even re-seated the ram.. is there a service mode on these HP printers that give more info?

any ideas?

Joe

Not sure on the service mode but you could try updating the firmware if it will let you and see if that fixes the problem.

Turns out it was a faulty ink cartridge. $189 new, but the supplier wont take it back, as its been "opened"..
