I too need confirmation of this, so far reports in the field have been favorable, but I would like to hear Joe's findings before purchasing new machines.

Right now there are more people reporting success than failure, but until I hear from a hardened vet like Joe the jury is still out.

I just loaded a CD full of Type 1 fonts circa 1993 into Linotype FontExplorer. I activated 20 different font sets. Started InDesign and itsaw and used 18 of them. Not sure why the two didn't get picked up butwith fonts in general with OS X this seems to be pretty good odds onold fonts like that.

It seems that the 10.6.2 patch has resolved most of the reported font problems. As Joe points out, any large folio of older fonts will undoubtedly have some issues when you load it.
