We've recently moved to Fuji's XMF Workflow.  Prior to this we were running Nexus/Pageflow. For proofing we have an Epson 7800 managed by EFI XF 2.6. Since we switched to XMF (a total PDF flow) I've been getting some proofs with missing objects (i.e. gradients, type, whatever) , but the plate always looks AOK.
I could use some advice from someone that knows more about proofing software than I do, which won't take much...
I know that the EFI install is about 5 years old - could it be that one doesn't support the other, and I need new color management on board ??

Thanx...

Fujifilm XMF / XMF Newbie Blues ....

Well. I've spent most of the day here puttering through the imposition controls - built my first impo to my liking.  Where do you save this wonderful first template once you've completed it?  The only place looks like the imposition Template Folder .   I guess I'm confused.  I've been told that I need to work from impos saved as Stripping SHEET templates - how do I get them to there ?  Do I sound confused enough ???

Fujifilm XMF / XMF and Imposition
December 23, 2009, 09:49:14 AM
We are considering making a move to XMF very soon.  I currently use Dynastrip 5.3.1 with the present workflow.  I have viewed the online demo and have participated in the XMK webinar with the Fuji folks.

This is a custom shop using numerous run sizes and finish sizes.  It appears that the ability to catalog the imposition templates in XMF may have limitations. Has anyone worked out a method of dealing with this - or is it possible to import from Dynastrip templates as I need them - or is there a better way ??

XMF looks good with respect to preflighting files - an area we're trying to streamline from our present situation - I'm just concerned whether I will have to abandon Dynastrip - and learn imposition all over again...

This issue is time-sensitive so I need to make a decision NOW - thus I would appreciate any input right away... Thanx
