We use 64 inch Roland printers (VS-640 & VG-640) with Versa RIPs. PDFs and tifs are the acceptable format for that RIP.

I didn't know that Quark was still alive. I thought it died a quiet death years ago. I like Tracy's idea of placing the Quark-abomination pdf in Indy and see what happens. I would try a variety of options for that matter. Place it in Illy and re-export a pdf? You never know what might work.

We are out in the rural boonies so we use satellite. It's the full package so we get pretty much everything. Tried Netflix via the inter web but gave up on that, as well as Prime. Trying Apple + as its free for three months so we can watch the new season of Ted Lasso, but will then probably ditch that too.

We just purchased a GCC LaserPro Spirit LS. It's a small format laser cutter/etcher - max 18 x 25 in. We cut complex acrylic shapes and etch acrylic, glass & lamacoids. It also came with a rotary attachment so we can etch glasses and Yetis. We just run it with a small PC laptop thru Illy.

Well you could but it is much easier to copy it to desktop and edit it with Text Edit. It is just a text file. Add all network computers you need to network to it. When done move it back to the /etc folder and let it overwrite the old one.

I use an app called Angry IP Scanner, it's free and will scan your network and show IP address, Mac address, and manufacturer. If your IP doesn't show up with the name of the Mac next to it, it may be in use by another machine.

Thanks guys. I'll try your suggestions on Monday. I'm thinking about turning the wireless off, plugging in the Ethernet, setting the TCP/IP back to automatic and restarting the Mac. I copied the alias for the NAS from one of the other macs and I'll see if it goes thru. It didn't work before. I'll try to ping the NAS first before I try anything. I'll also download that app David - thanks.

I just hooked a Windows laptop up to the Ethernet cable back there and it found the NAS server right away, so at least I know the cable is good. Must be an issue with the IMac or the settings I guess.

I used the same IP for the subnet that is on all of the network computers and used the router address I got from the other iMacs. It was different than the one on the trouble iMac, although it is routed through a desktop switch in the back office. Not sure if that would change the router address as I'm kinda flying in the dark in this area.
