Sounds like a bad re-install. With CS3 and up you have to remove the old version completely before doing a re-install. Adobe has a clean up script somewhere on their site for both Mac and PC.

I see that issue all the time on - holy shit. I just saw a car totally t-boned about 50 feet away - .idml files. brb.

Sorry for the delay. The cops came in here and I had to talk to them at great length. And in the meantime they got a flatbed and hauled off the cars, so no pictures. Sorry.
