I have an opportunity, if I go for it. 5 minutes from my house (as opposed to 45+), more money, big company that has their shit together, plant is 9 fucking acres. I really ought to give it a shot.

see i would never want a job that close. you're gonna be the guy they call when they need a fix... and if you don't answer your phone, they'll send someone by your house to get you.

when i worked at a place that had 1 prepress shift, but 2 press shifts, they'd call me at home all the time. one time when the pressman called me from his cell instead of the company phone and i answered, i told him i was too drunk to drive. he said he'd come get me. i oddly wasn't drunk, but then i started pounding while i was waiting for my ride.
"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"

Why work would make you so unhappy. I love going to work, it's the highlight of each and every day.

Yeah, wtf? That's totally unAmerican. You have shamed the nation and your fellow citizens with this "vacation" of yours. GET OUT!  :whip:
