Is there a way to "push" registration marks further back than crop marks?

it was part of the "standard" install.. it should be there by defalut.  works just as you described.

wierd that adobe "hid" that feature in a custom script area in inDesign, instead of just having direct menu access in Illy.

theres a lot of usable stuff in that scripts area.

the actual script lives in "\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS4\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Samples\JavaScript"

script and do the marks and crops separately
you can select how far offset you want the marks
and you can select separately which marks.
see screen shot

Nice. I never looked into scripts much, I will have a browse around.
I have need in the past to do just that. I did an override master page items and then moved the marks in the master page to solve my issue, but that probably wouldn't work in most cases.

multipage import and PEU5 layer/batch export are 2 I use all the time.
