Got a customer who going to change from using illustrator to art pro but we aren't changing, far too expensive and unnecessary.
We will still be doing there work but my question is will we have any problems with their files. As far as I can see if they send PDF's we will be OK, it's very rarely complicated designs.

Thanks.

David

PDF files from Art Pro are fine. What workflow are you currently using?

You may want to have them send you a test file or two just to make sure.

Thanks .

Not sue what you mean by workflow. We are only a small company working with corrugated printers who's work is very simple. They normally only print 2 colours max with 1mm plus grips, so no need for fancy traps etc. They can only print at around 50DPI, so again no fancy screening. Makes the job easy.

By "workflow", I mean do you use Rampage to send files to your platesetter, or Esko, Prinergy, or?

In other words, how do you make/send your files to plate and how do you make your plates?

Welcome to the forums.

God bless man. Getting harder to find quadra parts huh?

PDFs shouldn't give you too many problems.
Speed doesn't kill, rapidly becoming stationary is the problem

I'd rather have stories told than be telling stories of what I could have done.

Yep Really.
They are only Flexo printers not gravure or litho.  Generally working with 0.125" plate, sometimes 0.250". Nobody is going to use high end printers for boxes in the back of a warehouse. lol
We've even got a liquid plate making machine, doesn't get used often though. Now that's real old school.  :lmao:

David

a liquid platemaking machine?
Is this a spinner/coater that you coat the plates with egg albumen?

I ask because I did that in my first job about 30 something years ago.

I export to illy or PDF's on a regular basis. Shouldn't be an issue.
