The Rest... / Re: Excel question

I thought you could lock cells without requiring a password.

QuoteLocking cells in Excel makes them non-editable by default. First, make sure the cells are unlocked by checking them under the Format cells menu. Then select the cell/range of cells you want to lock, locking them again under the format cells menu.
Enforce this by protecting the worksheet. Your select cells are non-editable now, without a password.

Are any of these pages rotated in the pdf file? I have gotten some of these before and had a similar outcome. It's where a one page pdf was added or merged into another pdf and the orientation was different (landscape instead of portrait) so they rotated the page in Acrobat to make it better.
It only shows up when the "honor rotation" was not checked at the RIP.

Not sure if that would apply in your situation.

Quote from: born2print on April 05, 2024, 01:37:03 PMI remember Prisma for sure, Whisper sounds "faintly" familiar.
Did you output film on a Raystar?
They did have pretty cool names.
ours was a Lotem 400, we later upgraded to the 800 (for 40 inch films)

wasn't that the Prisma Whisper Station?

That's what we used to impose our Scitex files before outputting to film....    back in the day

General Prepress / Re: Box Sleeve Size

add the thickness of the box (x2) and the length (x2) plus 1/2". You will need a better pic that shows the actual size or have whoever took the pic measure it accurately so you can make a rectangle with folds.

What is the width of the sleeve? you only show the box size.

something like this:

I usually start off with a scrap strip of paper (doesn't matter the width or length, as long as it goes around the box with a little extra overlap), wrap it around the box, then mark it where they overlap. Then give it an extra 1/2" for a glue flap.

Adobe Acrobat / Re: Update to Acrobat caused problems
February 15, 2024, 10:55:01 AM
Quote from: Foozball on February 15, 2024, 09:02:03 AMRandom question about Acrobat: I'm working on a page for a friend in acrobat which will be a PDF (obviously) and saved a copy as a JPG ... it KEPT the website link, and I was SUPER impressed with that, for an image file.

But in the JPG the url links to "nttp.." despite the text being CORRECT and using "http.." ... wtf?

I have never seen an image file with an embedded "clickable" link, very curious. Not sure how to fix it tho.

it is well known, if you want to find an easier way to do something, ask a lazy person to do it.
