I submitted a bug report for the stupid 'add sticky note with SHIFT+CLICK' with output preview open.
Bug: Add to an already made selection with the mouse (https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac/suggestions/30976276-bug-add-to-an-already-made-selection-with-the-mou)
Please go there and vote the shit out of it. Probably won't help but my life goal right now is to get it changed before I die. :sarcasm:
Added my vote.
Me too, FFS :cane:
Just noticed users can comment on it too. Feel free to add some well worded snark.
voted, now I suspect I'll get way more spam (knowing that everybody sells email addresses and I think adobe is not immune to that bit of greed). Right Goog?
I must admit, I usually close that window before I do edits, it just gets in the way.
commented, then couldnt figure how how to vote! lol
found it ;-)
I thought it was some mystery job coming in when my phone started blinking the bad color (work email).
Thankfully it was just the comments from the poll.
I commented but no vote also
Well vote!
(not an order but a stern suggestion :rotf: )
don't make him come over there Tracy!!!
He'll turn this car around!!

nice barbie car there Joe...
you get that for Christmas?
color me jealous.
I was ridin' in style for a short time!
Reminds me of the illegal soapbox racing we used to do. Not with barbie cars but ones we made with beer and bad decisions.
I voted twice. Both from verified Adobe accounts, so it's legit. Also left a comment.
Legit... two votes... is your Adobe alter-ego Russian? Cornski

If that dont work, try killing them with kindness.
I've tried kindness for the last 15 years or so. Doesn't work.
Another vote here. Thanks Joe

Hey, that's Julien from trailer park boys.... with the ever present rum and coke in his hand.
Hey Bubbs
has anyone noticed that acrobat seems to be hogging all the ram in the past week? I am suddenly getting out of memory issues and the problem seems to be acrobat... never had any memory issues at all until this week... its just odd. I have 16 gbs ram at present
16 GB of RAM here too. Run Acrobat all day. Haven't had any memory errors. Other than the old age type.
LOL Joe... i get that a lot too
i've had to force quit at least once a day this week... and I am not using anything more software wise than i did last week. I have been keeping activity monitor open to check it during the day.
Maybe its just me.
The IT guy said acrobat did a big upgrade last week so i wondered if that had something to do with it. he suggested more ram

seems to be happening with a whole lot of different pdfs (tends to be larger books that have images though, not so much vector files) and even after i have finished and closed the files the memory levels just keep going up.
Think I might try clearing the recent files and see if that makes a difference, I hardly ever use that feature anyway

Not that I am getting my hopes up but...

and i am still having the same bloated ram issue with acrobat... and luckily (or unluckily perhaps) i have found someone else with the issue
https://forums.adobe.com/message/9807157#9807157
ignore the jpg, its too small to see, and I cant seem to delete it from the post
Definitely looks like Acrobat is using a lot of memory. I'm not seeing that with mine. What version of OS X are you on? And do you have any 3rd party plug-ins besides Pitstop?
only pitstop plugin, version number attached.
OSX Yosemite 10.10.5
Hmmmm....looks like I may not have gotten the recent bug introduced by Adobe yet. I still have an older version. Something to look forward to.

yes i am wondering if they have just introduced this to some parts of the world yet.... like the south pacific.
I'm pretty sure everyone in the US would be yelling from the rooftops by now.
I just have to quit from acrobat every hour... which is annoying.
I accidently didn't yesterday and came back after lunch to everything out of memory and having to restart the computer, that was very annoying.

Work iMac is running the same version that you have and I haven't had any of the memory errors. I am on Mac OS Sierra (10.12.6). Not sure if that would make a difference though.
Adobe has FINALLY fixed this issue in the latest update released February 13.
QuoteHi All,
With the latest update of Acrobat on 13th Feb, this issue has been addressed. Make sure you are on the latest update by visiting Help > Check for updates (https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/continuous/dccontinuousfeb2018.html#dccontinuousfebruarytwentyeighteen/ ).
We have added a preference "Use Shift + Click for Multiple Selection with Output Preview " to enable multiple objects selection when the output preview dialog is open. To select multiple objects, use Shift + Click. To add a sticky note containing the color values, use Alt + Click (on Windows) or Option + Click (on Mac).
For more details, refer https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/previewing-output-acrobat-pro.html .

I got the email today and knew you'd be happy.
Since I'm on acrobat pro v2 it really didn't affect me.

Oh. You got that upgrade from v1 to v2 I see. :rotf:
It was hard fought. Mr. Guttenberg really put up a fight for those 2 pence in order to upgrade.
Now I have to eat gruel for a months though.
Yay! hooray for shift click!
The good news is we finally got a full version of PitStop here. The bad news it it's installed on the Fiery, 2 rooms away. :wtf:
Boo!
Hey Joe, what version of Acrobat Pro DC has that option for shift clicking? I'm not seeing it. : huh :
You need to update to 2018.011.20035. Go to the Help menu and click 'Check for Updates'.
Well this is odd. I'm getting this error "Updater is already running." I've tried checking for updates in the creative cloud app, restarting it and trying it again. No luck.
I found a forum post on Adobe that suggested closing the Adobe Updater in processes under task manager (I'm on Mac so I figured the activity monitor). It worked! I'm now getting the update!

OMG, never thought I would see the day. OMG.
REALLY? OMG, WOW.
Don't get too excited. I'm sure they took something away from us. I just don't know what it is yet! :sarcasm:
Yeah, well, sorry, cant contain myself, see that friggin green sticky at least once per week, usually when someone is watching me and then thinks I dont know what i am doing.
Oh damn, Christmas is over damnit, long overdue on the avatar update...... ok done.

I have to admit I did a bit of a happy dance when I found out. And NO...it is not now nor will it ever be on Youtube!

You were right Joe, I jumped the gun with my naive belief that all was well.
With that preference checked, when you go to image edit in Photoshop, guess what happens?
The green sticky note comes up. Am I missing something or is it happening to anyone else?
:drunk3:
Nope. I only get the green sticky note with OPTION+Click which I don't use to edit image. I either right click the image or CTRL+Click the image to get the popup menu for 'Edit image'.
Yay, just a big yay!
finally no more green sticky

Ok, will try when I get back to work. I thought OPTION click was the only way to go. I am sure you are right, whew, had to pinch myself when that green thing came up AGAIN, like just get rid of it ADOBE, NOBODY WANTS IT ANYWAYS!
Yes thanks again, I will be right clicking on the edit, don't see no more green thing.
