Editing PDFs with illustrator Good or BAD?

What I was getting at was the auto activation feature that is now in CS3.  It does outline fonts every so often but nothing that's effected me.  And I've been through this conversation many times.  Just because you got bit once and point a crucifix everytime you hear Illy and PDF in the same sentence doesn't mean it's wrong.  It probably means you just don't know how to work around the programs shortcomings.  And every program has shortcomings, especially Pitstop!
