LEDs light up with no power??

So Sunday afternoon i decide to finally move my home computer workstation to the opposite wall in my 'office'.  In the middle of the move, i happen to notice that the "spectre" logo on the LCD monitor is still lit up red, although the unit has been unplugged for at least an hour. it was fairly bright too, youd think it was still plugged in, but wasnt. NO IDEA why/how its possible..

Unfortunately, the monitor did not survive the move. the red LED will not go away, when you try to power it on, the "white" led's power up like its on, but no display.  Seems to be a power issue, cant get any image on the screen at all.

Fortunately, i got it from costco, so with a little luck, theyll swap it out for me..
