For reasons too long & stupid to explain, we have one DocuColor machine that can only be accessed from the Macs if it's Shared. DIrect printing isn't possible. Previously it was done through another Mac, but now it's being shared through a crappy Windows machine and whenever I print through it, the damned thing wants a password. Can't easily get hold of the "IT" person who set it up, anybody know what sort of stupid this could be & how to rectify the situation??

I've love to help you but I'm dealing with my own possessed Epson. Sometimes it will print, sometimes it won't. Then there are times when it takes 20 minutes to print 1 8.5x11.
Speed doesn't kill, rapidly becoming stationary is the problem

I'd rather have stories told than be telling stories of what I could have done.

It is probably needing the Windows username and password.

Here we would have a post-it note with the "secure" password for anyone to see :ohno:

Oh, there is one - but the User doesn't exist on that machine any more.

Lol, bloody typical. No need to change the note.
