Stroke corner issue

Can anyone tell me why some of my corners are beveled and some are pointy? It's part of the same shape and I want them all to be pointy. I'm wondering if the angles are too slim??

Change you miter limit to 20 or so on the stroke.

We bought my stepson a firebird for his 16th birthday and I want to make him a vanity plate for Christmas but the traditional firebird logo doesn't fit nicely on the plate.
