Does anyone have the "convert format of word document" action for Automator. I'm using OSX. I'm not sure if it's an action you install with Word but I don't have it in my actions list.

It doesn't show up after I installed it. I must need to have Word installed on here or something.

It unzips with just that 1 action, which is what I wanted:

I have to design a banner real quick so I'll mess with it a little later.

I want to batch convert over 100 doc files to PDF.

Have you tried just dropping a word doc on the action icon?

I did just now, it says the action is damaged or incomplete. And it doesn't show up in my library. But it says it installed and when I install again it asks to replace it.

Did you restart Automator after importing it? It might be from a newer version of Automator than you have. Or it actually could be damaged. Or you might need Word installed for it to work. Not really sure. You could download LibreOffice and convert them in it but it would be all manual work.

Yeah we have the guy who answers phones doing the "manual" work right now. But I'm going to try and figure this out for next time.

I did restart a few times to no avail.

I have the same version of automator, is there another way of getting this file to you besides just going to the actions folder and grabbing it? I don't see an "export" or anything.

Quote from: Skryber on March 13, 2012, 12:03:40 PMI use Neo, btw. How's Libre?

I dumped Neo a long time ago as it seemed slower than OpenOffice. Then Oracle hijacked OpenOffice and fired most of the developers. Those developers then started LibreOffice. I've been using it for some time now and it works OK for what I need it for.

No I'm sure that's how you do it. It comes up as an action. Do you have Word installed? I really think it has something to do with not having Word.

I opened the action in TextWrangler. It does try to launch Word.
