Before I sold my home in the Bay, I commuted to Sac. for 3 months. It's about an hour 15 each way (the way I drive). When I worked in the South Bay, it was 45 min in the morning and a minimum hour and a half each night, except on Thursdays when the A's had a day game - then it was another half hour to 45 minutes.
"There's been a lot of research recently on how hard it is to dislodge an impression once it's been implanted in someone's mind. (This is why political attack ads don't have to be true to be effective. The other side can point out their inaccuracies, but the voter's mind privileges the memory of the original accusation, which was juicier than any counterargument ever could be.)"

Yeah I can see why...

New Zealand scenery vs Illinois scenery.
yeap its a nice area, thats a couple of hours away, mt cook in the distance (highest mountain in NZ, we dont make em that big compared to other countries).

this is 30 mins from home, summer pic... usually covered in snow over winter, took the kids up there for a walk. Its my work computer background.

Man that's a pretty landscape DPSprint. We have a lot of trees in my area. Mostly pine and some oak/maple. I'm surprised there aren't hobbits down by that river, though they're pretty good at hiding from humans if memory serves right.

I live and work in the same city. I've got a 12-15 minute commute, though I now drive a V8 Dakota and I keep trying to figure out how to get better than 15-16 mpg in it. I guess 15 is good for a V8. Its not the 23-25 in my Mazda3 I used to have.

20 minutes if I drive, 45 if I take the train now.
Used to drive both ways at my previous job, 45-60 each way.
Found it to be really irritating as it was all heavy traffic.
I made the same drive in once on a Saturday morning in 21 minutes.
Started taking the train, same amount of time to commute, way less stress!
Except of course when the weathers sucks and you are walking to and from the train station....

Minimum wage in Canada is 14 so they can't do that!

Damnit! I didn't know it was in Canada. Now I have to tell them to toss my resume in the trash. Too far of a commute for me. 8)
