Hello !

I´m testing a demo version of Ultimate Impostrip 2019, and I didn´t find out how to make multiple web signature.
I have a A5 book the has 144 pages so I need 5 signatures, 4 of them with 32 pages and 1 signature with 16 pages.
In Preps I have a template with multiple web, 1st web perfector and 2nd web single side work turn.

How do I make this on Impostrip ?

any help is very welcome !

Kodak Systems / Re: Prinergy 8.1 instalation problem

Well guys finally the Prinergy is working ....

Not sure what specifically was the cause of the error, but with these tips the instalation was successfully!

– The Machine cannot be named PRINERGY or PRIMARY, in my case was named PRINERGY
–  Windows firewall must be OFF
– the password cannot have special characters , my case had "@"
– The IP address must be fixed one not provide by DCHP
– Let the installer create the ARAXI user during the instalation, I created the user before.

hope these hints can help you guys !

One other thought. Do you have this folder and this file on your J drive? According to Kodak both are required to be there.

The strange thing is that everything is new ...
changed for a new motherboard
so we installed a fresh copy of windows 2008 R2 x64 Standard
the drive C was formated
drive D is the old jobs folder, renamed but NOT formated.
my last shot will be backup all old jobs folder as far as we lost our database allready
and reconfigure the RAID drives them install everything again and pray ...

any suggestions are very very welcome !

thanks guys !

First I don't know how to fix Oracle issues, but I know enough troubleshooting to be dangerous.

Good news, is that it appears that your database appears to be intact or at least Prinergy can see it, Prinergy just can't communicate with it.  I don't think it's a date issue, I believe it is a location issue. And not that you do not have it on the same "J" drive, but a sub level location has changed, and that is what needs to be updated in the database for Prinergy, and why it is a quick fix. A new motherboard would cause this type of issue.

I could be way off too. Just a thought.

thanks for your reply Joe.

Thing is that here in Brazil is very difficult to get kodak support.

But anyway I'l ltry them and also some things with oracle too.

thanks again !

Kodak Systems / Prinergy 8.1 instalation problem
October 09, 2019, 11:54:02 AM
Hi guys !

Well our server (Dell T620) had a problem with the iDRAC and we had to replace the motheboard,
so we have to reinstall the prinergy from scratch.
Version that we use is 8.1
During the instalation things go on fine.
But after when reboot and try to config or start the sytem this error apear ...

looks like oracle database is not configured correct ...
but as all older version we don't have to do any config for it ...

the error log loks like this ...

***********************************************************
Connecting to port 49998 on PRINERGY...
Connection failed.  The server may not be running.
Attempting reconnection to port 49998 on PRINERGY. Disconnect (Ctrl+Q) to cancel.

Hello !

Is it possible, better saying, do someone use Fiery XF 6 to color management Digital Toner Printers ?
I have a customer that has a Ricoh 7100 with Fiery and uses the Fiery XF to make inkjet proofs color calibrated to run with offset presses.
What I need to know is tht if it´s possible to use the XF to make a ICC profile and color calibrate the Ricoh to make proofs that passes the UGRA/Fogra standarts with the "Verifier" option on XF or Ugra Proof and Print Certification Tool.

I know it´s a little bit complex my question but any help is very appreciated.

Thanks !

You can set up Colorflow to output to all your devices (proofers, press, etc). We had ours set to output for an Epson 9800 for proofs, and we had all our sheetfed and web presses profiled.
Basically you have to profile all your outputs, put in the profiles into Colorflow and you should be able to hit your proof target at press. Our workflow worked well, but in a lot of our jobs, we had to not use the ink optimization because we couldn't get the saturation we needed on press.
But, we did have some web runs that we used it on and it worked well and we saved a ton on ink. A web press can eat up some ink in no time, so in this case, it all added up to major cost savings.

Do you have Prinergy driving your epson 9800 ?
is it connect via 9000 template driver ?

thanks !
