Good to know about the X4 out of Acro, I did X4 it out of indy.
Next time it comes in I will do that first!

X-4 allows for defining an output intent but preserve objects tagged with cmyk, rgb profiles for late binding color conversion. That and optional content groups (layers) allow for great flexibility if you plan the workflow with conscientious forethought.

Don't know how to X4 out of Acro, When I did a save as other Press Ready PDF/X
It seemed to fix the problem, not sure why.

Besides color management benefits there is also optional content groups. And best of all, no flattening transparency.
