My favorite is Scottish swears. I've never been banned from FB for calling someone a mangled fud.

Technical / Re: WordPress, Joomla, or Custom Code?
June 06, 2024, 01:09:24 PM
The reason I'm choosing Squarespace is because the same woman who taught the Joomla class on Lynda I took years ago is the one teaching the Squarespace one now, and frankly I think she's brilliant. So if she recommends it, I'm gonna check it out. And plus  if I don't have to deal with FTP sites or shit support from GoDaddy, I'm in.

I'm about to embark on Squarespace, I have 5 sites to do that are currently done in Joomla. Which is fine and I'm pretty competent in it but if you're not 5 stars on Github the Joomla forums aren't much help. And you need CSS because out of the box it sucks.
Watched a 2 hour tute on LinkedIn/Lynda for Squarespace and it looks so much easier with a lot more freedom for design.

For some reason, I just never got the hang of WordPress

Random Technology / Remote Desktop

Do any of you use a remote desktop for when you're working at home and need to connect to your office computer? I just got WFH Fridays  :aljolson: and I'm looking into a remote desktop that will connect my Mac at home to my PC at work that will allow me to share files. Thanks!

Quote from: Joe on April 13, 2023, 01:11:13 PMWe used Rackspace where I was at. It was running $2.40 per mont per user. We went with it because it was a lot cheaper that Gmail. You can set it up for your own domain. Each mailbox gets 25 GB of space and also includes being able to use webmail or an email client on your computer. Either or both work fine. Also can be setup on your Android or iPhone.
I saw this one while I was Googling, I'll check this & the Gmail option out. Thanks guys!

Have any of you had to deal with setting up emails for your companies? Our old owner had us using Icewarp, which just upgraded and it's complete shit. People are complaing to me like I fkg designed the software so I'm looking around. Not even really sure where to start. We obviously need the @ourdomain.com address and our websites are hosted by GoDaddy so I have them sending me info. Just wondering if any of you have recommendations.

General Prepress / Re: Stickers with back printing
February 21, 2022, 08:38:06 AM
Quote from: David on February 18, 2022, 10:56:00 AMAre you asking about printing on the crack & peel side of stickers?
We do stickers here, white crack & peel, clear, decals, window clings etc.
We haven't done anything on the back of the ones we do yet, that I know of.
I would think it would be easy to do as long as the paper backing is printable and doesn't have anything on it.

Yes, so promtional stickers for my company that we would then in turn sell advertising on the peel off label backing. Along the lines of a grocery store receipt that prints out with coupons on the back.

General Prepress / Stickers with back printing

Just wondering if anyone has any stickers with back printing resources they've used and recommend. We're thinking about selling advertising on the back of some promotional stickahs. I'm googleing the crap out of it but figured I ask around too.
Thanks!

Adobe Illustrator / Re: Type on a path with distortion

There's this huge landscaping company whose logo was made in TypeStyler in the 90's. It's insanity trying to get it ready for a press.
