So I have two Windows servers running 2 nexus installs both rack mounted in the same enclosure but a strange thing has started to happen recently, nexus 1 as we'll call it,  has started dropping the other machines it's mapped to causing jobs to fail because the job can't write to it's final destination.

Simply logging in and opening back up the volume re-establishes connection. Also this same machine when mounted tends to "boot" one of the macs in prep, in other words operator has windows open on the server and the connection just drops.

I've tried a couple things but am at a loss thus far. We have recently added a PC to the network to drive our GMG, other than that it's same old same old.

What do the two mean to you?

I just updated to CS 5 and can't seem to remember how to separate a multi page pdf into single pdf pages??

We use a web based file management system and whenever we select a file location through the web page a small file is downloaded and is opened by a little app on my hard drive, only problem is we get the app off our corporate web site and it asks me every time if I want to run it "this file was downloaded from the internet do you want to run it blaa blaa blaa" I didn't get this annoying error on my trusty G5 but I'm getting it on my macbook pro, any idea how to get that notification to go away?

I finally got upgraded from 3, curious if they've added anything worth while?

We've got a pretty nice table that we use to plot gang vinyls and we want to start using it to cut coating blankets.

We have a couple different scenarios but the one that's the most attractive is trying to find a printer that can accurately image a die vinyl. Does anyone know of a printer this accurate? Perhaps some kind of drafting printer.

OK the pressroom periodically prints long or short front to back. We know this but what are ya going to do.

Diecutting manager goes out to lunch with a new die vendor and is told they put a distortion on every die they make.

Die cutting manager comes to me and asks me if we distort our plates to which I reply no, never have in sheetfed that would just be adding another variable to try and fix a press issue that should be addressed at the press.

From the look on his face he aint giving up on this idea (this is the same guy who wanted me to make him vinyl for a back print until I showed him he could just flip over the vinyl he already had)

Aside from the argument that's a press issue what other shit should I fling at him since I know he's going to go to the OP's manager with this.

Ok currently using plate "A" testing plate "B" plate A and Plate B dont image the same way when no linear curve is applied (most stuff is like that here).

Naturally I'd just like to make plate B linear but I have to match the out put from plate A due to many rerun jobs already having been done on that plate.

My curve software only gives me the option of % on file and % on plate to come up with my linear curve, how can I take the two plates and make A image Like B?

Hope this makes some sense.

Does anyone know if it's possible to place something into a Artios CAD layout? The reason being we have small cards that are 4/c that we frequently have to rebuild the layouts on because the pressroom doesn't like how something is layed out costing us an extra couple of days, we'd like the planners to drop a pdf or something in and show the pressroom on screen before we commit prep time in building the layout.

Operator A sets up job on Mac A on server, operator B tries to copy job to different folder error pops up you do not have sufficient privileges to copy this folder bla bla bla. Folder appear locked somehow.

Folder appear with a red circle with a white dash through it, what's going on?
