Create varnish_"gaps" on RIP

This is probably more a comment on our RIP than on PSP's Varnish tab.
Nincumpoops at HQ send an "urgent" brochure job, but decide at last minute that all pics should have machine varnish. I haven't made full use of Inspector>Prepress>Varnish before, but I did this time.

However, on 2 of the 4 formes, I got what I presume to be flattening problems at RIP. Arse-saver was to Place imposed formes in Acrobat 9, Save As PostScript~separations, but omit cmyk. Make sure that all OK with the result...make 100% K in PSP; whatever it took.

Just wondering if anyone's had similar issues with PSP's Varnish utility/tab...at RIP.    :undecided:
