Nexus/Artpro 9.5 released

New Gui for artpro!

About freaking time.

Dear Valued Customer,

We are pleased to announce the release of Nexus 9.5 (build 34) for Windows Server and Mac OS X Server.

This version is now available on the Download Center for customers with a current Maintenance Contract.

If you currently have maintenance contract for this product but can't see this version to make a software build on the Download Center, please contact EskoArtwork Customer Service Department at 1 (800) 743-7131 or by email at Support.USA@Esko.com.  Please provide your Customer Code, password and dongle number when logging the call to reporting the issue.

Nexus 9.5 contains new functionality, but the main focus is the new licensing system.

What's new in Nexus 9.5.
    * New licensing system.
    * Nexus Start Up and Shut Down controller.
    * New workflow save and restore function.
    * Public Parameters (NeXML).
    * NexusProcessor 9.5 activities have been improved and extended with new activities (Import Picture List, Modify Paint, Rename Separations, Reorder Separations).
    * Nested Step and Repeat supports ArtiosCAD manufacturing data (MFG).
    * Export Gravure Jobticket (Hell Gravure Systems).
    * Calibration of unscreened output.
    * Optimized LEN output.
    * Step and Repeat Optimization.
    * Microsoft Windows Server 2008 32-bit or 64-bit SE support.  (Customers with Agfa output please refer to page 24 of the Nexus manual for compatibility with W2008 server OS.)

New licensing system
  This release contains the new license mechanism, with support for activation-based licensing. This mechanism is based on product keys instead of hardware keys (dongles). As from now, the Licensing Teams are going to provide product keys containing licenses.

If you have never received Nexus 9.5 Product Keys before, you will be asked to request for Product Keys when you log on to the Download Center.

   The Nexus 9.5 manual is available on the Download Center. It contains a chapter with all new functions and a cross reference to the appropriate place in the manual as well. System requirements

Nexus

Nexus 9.5, these following platforms are supported:
    * Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SE (SP2 or R2) 32-bit
    * Microsoft Windows Server 2008 32-bit or 64-bit SE
    * Apple Macintosh Intel OS 10.4.x and 10.5.x Server. 

     *Nexus Manager 9.5 will remain supported on both Mac PowerPC and Intel.

Installation folder notes!!!!!
   Version 9.x and above, the installer no longer creates a subfolder and the install path may be incorrect. The installer will install Nexus in to the folder that the User has selected. By default the installer folder path will be C:\Program Files\EskoArtwork\Nexus 9.x, this path is usually incorrect, the User must re-browse and select the correct folder.

Related applications are ArtPrinter, NexusEdit and PowerLayout. ArtView and PowerOptimizer are no longer available, but you can still use the 9.0 versions, which is fully compatible.

The first revision of ArtPro 9.5 is going to be available with an English GUI only. Other languages are going to be added into future 9.5 revisions.

ArtPro 9.5 and the related applications are only available as Universal Binary and are only supported on Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard)

Still on Nexus 8.5 for the time being. Switching to Prinergy within the next 3 weeks. Training in Rochester next week.

Yes. It's a full blown PDF workflow from the ground up. And that is what we need.

Note that this version does not support PowerPC chip, so if you are Mac based and don't have Intel chip, use an older version.

Only Nexus, they have abandoned the PowerPC chip, all new versions will only run on Intel Macs w/ 10.4.x & 10.5.x. Course this will soon find it's way to ArtPro, when who knows, this might be the perfect opportunity to faze out your G5.
