Hi,
What's the best way to duplicate a copy of preps to another machine. I mean settings, custom marks, paper sizes, presses etc.

Thnx

We keep our Marks, templates, printers folder on a network share and then point to them in the Preps preferences. All machines then use the same resources for everything.

We do it the same way as Joe. This is a screenshot of Preps 6, but should be the same in 7. Locate these folders and move them to the network and relink them in both copies of Preps and you will be golden. We have been running 3 floating like this for almost 10 years now.

Farabomb

Preps 6 has been around for 10 years?

Damn I'm really behind with 5.  :o

No, released Sept. 2009, but you could run Preps 5 in that manner also.

Yeah yeah we started with 5 I think, it was here when I got here. I miss 5 some days. We are upgrading Prinergy next month so I guess we get to see what 7 has fucked up about it, errrr, new features I mean.

Joe

I'll let you know next week as we are moving up to both Prinergy 7 and Insite 7 a week from today. New servers arrived yesterday.

sweet let me know of any issues. We are moving from 5 to 7 and I am hoping none of my automation gets broken.

Oh, how I long for Preps 5. I've dabbled in 6 and 7 here and there over the past couple years, but a few weeks ago we upgraded Prinergy and now are fully in 7. I hate it.
