Cooking a tri tip beyond medium rare is a felony in most states.

The key to tri tip is low and slow.

I like to get my grill up to about 175-200, and keep the heat (propane or charcoal) to one side, and put the tri tip on the cold side, FAT SIDE UP. Close the lid and use the grill like an oven for 2-3 hours. I like a dry rub, but some people will swear by a marinade.

Getting the smoker going is a good way, too, if you have one.

Digital Printing / Paper for digital printing
April 21, 2025, 12:42:12 PM
While looking for some paper to special order this morning, came across this. Now I ask you, honestly, as a manufacturer of paper for digital reproduction, is this what you want to name your company?

Also, econosource is a shitty brand, and I don't recommend it.

I like A1, but NEVER on Prime Rib or a Rib Eye. Maybe on a T-Bone. Probably on a New York Strip or Top Sirloin.

As odd as it sounds, we have NO Macs here.

Quote from: larsenio on April 05, 2025, 12:58:50 PMSorry but that's not what I asked.. in roll printing I need to have spaces based on the die that are repetitive and where the die begins/ends, they must be half the space between the two shapes, something that Preps or any other software doesn't do automatically. I'll start by saying that I'm an Agfa Prepress user and I know Kodak Preps very well.
I have never done roll printing. I'm sorry. I'm afraid I don't understand what you need / are looking for

Looked into that one as well. First they want all your information. Then, again, it's a limited free trial. They're pushing their VDP software. Kind of similar to FusionPro, but it works out of InDesign instead of Acrobat. Going to stick with mail merge and manual impo here, for our purposes; can't justify the cost... don't do enough VDP to make it worthwhile.

not sure why, I actually think it's shareable
Maybe you're paying for it, and don't know. Check your bank statements.

Looks like it's only a 14-day free trial, otherwise it's $3.99/mo

geez. That seems like a lot of work, man.

...or I can just email/call the customer and ask them to send the .zip separately

Adobe Acrobat / PDF file extraction

We have a forms department, and they created a PDF form that allows you to attach files within. When we receive an order form, the art is located in a field box where you click on the file name and extract the file. I've included a screenshot. Well, I got one with a .zip and I can't extract it, open it or anything else. Any idea how to pull the .zip file out of a PDF to work it?

Yes @DCurry, I believe it was Esko.

@larsenio, that can be done in InDesign very easily. It can be done in Illustrator too, but there are some tricks in Illy. If you're moving the same distance every time, select the item and Command-C copy it. Then, from the dropdown, go to Object --> Transform --> Move. Set your specifics, and click "Copy." Then Command-D as many times to repeat the step and repeat.

IIRC correctly, Preps does not do step and repeat for independent pages, but it does work for defined pages.

Maybe Quite Imposing? Also, IIRC, Esko has it's own imposition, but I forget what it's called. We used it at Dome... before they sold out, went in to packaging and then closed its doors.
