I have a document with literally hundreds of Interactive Elements that distill to pdf, but don't image when RIPped through Rampage (or print on the digital press). Is there a way, in InDesign or PDF, to convert them all at once, or do I have to convert them to objects one at a time? Selecting them all doesn't work (the option to convert to object is grayed out in the menu).

I did a select all with the open arrow tool, and that option was not grayed out. Do you InDesign have CS6? I notices you were doing it in a lesser version. That could be the problem.

I didn't do it; that's the original .zip as sent by the client. I'm working it in CC (2013).

I just used the open arrow selection tool and selected convert to object, but it still shows as an Interactive Element to me on my preflight list

I thought he was wanting them to print? Didn't he say they were in the PDF but didn't RIP?

I cannot see a reason why they would need to print at all, they are just text fields.. Am I wrong there, Corn?

I have no idea since I don't know what they are. But he said, "with literally hundreds of Interactive Elements that distill to pdf, but don't image when RIPped through Rampage (or print on the digital press).", therefore I thought the problem was that they are not in the ripped piece? But again, I don't know what he talking about as I haven't seen the file.

It's a form they use online, and it's interactive because you tick the boxes and enter numbers. They want the boxes to print; the first time I had this project, there were only a couple, but they raised holy hell when they didn't show on the proof. Now there's dozens, if not hundreds.

I forgot about the pdf trick; I actually have it as a default setting on. I figured that out last time it came through.
