What format are you exporting to? PDF will take SIGNIFICANTLY more time to generate than JLYT.

Quote from: Joe on November 15, 2024, 04:51:29 PMYou update Acrobat from within Acrobat...under the Help menu I believe it is.
Yep.
Adobe does not consider Acrobat Pro part of the Creative Cloud suite.
As a side note, I always disable the auto-updates in Acrobat. If I don't, either an Acrobat update or a PitStop update will brick everything.

Quote from: DigiCorn on September 05, 2024, 08:58:22 AMBoy I've nothing but trouble with Seagate drives. I've had Western Digital drives go bad too...
In my experience over the years and many, many external HD purchases I've learned that with WD, their bare drives are rock solid. The controllers in their cases are AWFUL. When they first started failing I thought it was the drive itself. After about 6 failures I pulled the bare drives out and connected them to my computer via an adapter...Viola.
I have probably experienced this 20 times or more.

Time Machine has saved my butt more than once.
It is so much more elegant than many other solutions I've used.

General Prepress / Re: Scanning Oversized Negatives
July 31, 2024, 08:01:25 AM
My concern isn't so much positive vs. negative but the size of the film.
All but the highest end scanners do not scan with a perfect ration on the X and Y axis.
This would make tiling extremely difficult.

Quote from: DCurry on July 09, 2024, 09:20:48 AMNo typing required. Get all the PDFs in a folder, select all, copy. Open Excel and paste. It will paste the file names.
Well DAMN! I did not know you could copy and paste directory items like that.
THank you for the tip!

Usually, the flexo webs use an inline rotary die.

Quote from: David on June 12, 2024, 09:21:21 AMwe never sent web rolls out of the building, we did our own finishing, and I've never heard of the rolls described this way.
I have a feeling that the OP works in the label/sticker industry with flexo webs.

RAMpage / Re: PDF Print Engine
August 25, 2009, 07:31:43 PM
Rampage has implemented the APPE (Adobe PDF Print Engine) into it's RIPs. It also still has the capability for PS Level 3.
Rampage RIPs are not based upon any other RIP technology, they are their own entity.
I've been using Rampage for over 5 years now and just recently started moving over to the PDF workflow....it is freakin' awesome.
