That was good info, sheesh so many times I didn't do that  :'(
I didn't order as it wouldn't get here in time for mothers day for my Mother in law
sheesh now I have to come up with something else

Order from here and see if they can overnight it. It's only about 6-8 hours from San Diego. And no, Sierra Nut House is not an asylum.

Whats their privacy policy?  ;D just kidding

Hey Thanks! going to check it out!

you just reminded me we have Bates Nut Farm right up the road here!

Usually if you stick to well-known vendors, they don't play dirty with their customers' info, including e-mail, although customer lists are a legit way for them to make more moolah. I very rarely deal with a new company I've never heard of for that reason. Sometimes, though, you just can't stop the crap. Spam is the least of the damage they can do, so it's just having common-sense vigilance.

I once had some company charging me around $7 a month for some subscription to some diet program of theirs I never heard of. It was obviously crooked, as each month the charge was listed under a different category, such as florist, books, etc. I guess they depended on getting a lot of card numbers and charging a small amount they hoped nobody would notice. I got the charge removed each month until they gave up.

I got an email recently; an invoice from PayPal saying that my payment was declined. Obviously it was phony, because I don't have a PayPal account. I have told the old people in my life to ignore all of that stuff. Who's still falling for these scams?

If you're that stupid to fall for, "buying gift cards," then you deserve to get swindled. Let's think about this logically... you know you didn't do anything wrong, and let's say someone did remote into your iPad... what site were you on that allowed the attacker to gain access? Maybe you're NOT so innocent after all...

$15,000? Hell no. I'd take my iPad to ewaste for shredding, and for $600 I'd buy a new one.

If I were really paranoid I'd go buy a new router with a VPN and configure my devices to connect through the VPN. I do that anyways so I can get out of market sports, or watch local teams that got blacked out.

I wouldn't say they are that stupid but they just don't understand how things work. They got the guy by claiming:

"They have downloaded a $15,000 charge for a child porn site out of China. That immediately got my attention," said Mandle.

Mandle has no criminal record and says he didn't have any pictures or videos like that on his iPad. Mandle did not want that on his computer or record.

"I could get in a lot of trouble. That's what still sucked me in," he said.

Just gullible.

In that case, I'd contact the FBI. They handle a lot of child porn crap so that's an in, especially with the China connection. He'll probably get a lot more of the same because the crooks will sell his info to others.

I got three scam e-mails today, each telling me I won something from somebody. The only interesting one would have been a wet/dry vac from Home Depot.

Around Christmas I got a lot of those telling me my account with somebody would be cut off. I didn't have an account with any of them. Then there are the ones telling me about my order for a $7,000 watch from Amazon and stuff. I got one of those last week with a change. They usually have a button to click to cancel the order or something. This one said it wasn't cancellable. Had to call some phone number. Yeah, right.

People ought to spend less time on Facebork and more time reading a few articles to educate themselves on what not to fall for on the internet.

He can't see PM's until he logs in which he has been trying to do for a few months. And the email on his account no longer works so I can't contact him that way either.
