yes im trying to do something in preps and in corel, in illustrator i saw its more manual work,
i just did some experiment and i put bleed differnt colors on all 4 sides, and when i put it in preps and corel i saw that middle, inner bleeds, bleed was just outside around all 10 cards which is good, so inner bleeds werent going on cards, but there are just tiny lines of bleed, horizontal lines which i think r not such a problem i could sent or attach files but i dont know how to do it

Other Imposition Software / how to make imposition
March 25, 2009, 03:19:41 PM
Hello,

I have a problem with imposition. 10 card 2x5 on a4 and they have fill. If i make imposition so they r sticking together, so that would be just one cut, when those bleeds overlap,  color mixes and become stronger- different, how to handle this. Do i have to manualy set middle-inner bleeds from near cards to zero or i leave it like it is, on all 4 sides of cards 1/4 inch or 0,3cm, and just impose and it wont make any difference.
Are those imposition progrmams so smart that they know, what to do if 2 bleeds overlap, actually they dont overlap they go into cardso 3mm of card can be different color.

thank you for any suggestion

ok, i have another question, when people say that they strip off embedded profiles, does it mean that they convert embedded profile to their custoom or it is assigned (are cmyk values preserved or changed)

General Prepress / prepress operator
March 15, 2009, 09:23:45 AM
Hello,

im student graphic tehnician,
all they teach us is theory...
but i would like to learn and know about prepress as much as i can, cause id like to work in prepress but nobody wants to hire if i dont have experience...
I read and watch about prepress a lot but i cant find nowhere answers that i would like to know.

id like to know why most of print shops doesnt want profiles to be embedded, included
-as i see it and when i watched tutorials, if there is no profiles they dont have a clue what profile client used and from there they can only call or guess how should document, image look when they put their profile. Or print shops know that all people use those couple generic profiles and when print shop assign their custom profile, there wont be any or very little change of appearance.
-Also id like to know where and how they do it assigning, converting
(in acrobat print production or pitstop, rip )
- id like to know workflow when print company gets pdfs, or native, ps.., how they handle them, transparancy, overprint, screen angle, imposition, dot gain, black, cmyk-rgb,... how pdfs or other files travel from one application to another, what is done in each application

if youll have time if you could answer or any suggestion if would really appreaciate it

thank you
