Serif just posted a sneak peek of their Affinity Publisher!
It looks pretty cool.
Can't wait to try it out!

Hey Syphon! :hello:

Adobe is just laying in the grass like a snake....waiting for this to be released so they can swoop in and give them a buttload of cash to buy it and then kill it off.

It looks very user friendly
Is it me or does that look like a 50" monitor?

wonderings

Not seeing a whole lot in that video outside of some basic stuff. Indesign has years and years of development and fine tuning. Hopefully that is not the only view option you have when working, I like being able to simple hit "w" to see the finished size and hit again to see my bleeds and everything off page. If they leave the pasteboard around the page dark like that it will make it very difficult to use, at least for how I work. When setting things up I will have things all around the page sitting there till I need it.

Hopefully they come out with this app closer to being production ready then they did with Designer and Photo which lacked some very basic functionality. I will definitely be buying this as soon as it is available to really see how it stacks up to my favourite app Indesign. I think Affinity has a long road ahead of them. Great to have options outside of Quark, just hope it can live up to the usability of Indesign.

Slappy

Since this is vid of an Alpha build, and it's not even slated (so far) or a release until 2018 I'd imagine it will be a lot more polished. Not sure why they'd even release a clip this far away from a V1 product, maybe just proof of concept? I've been watching them for at least a year now since they said they had a page layout app coming, so I'll definitely be a Day 1 buyer too.
A little diddie 'bout black 'n cyan...two reflective colors doin' the best they can.

wonderings

They really need to change the name. I already shudder when someone says they have their file all setup and did it in Publisher.

Henceforth we shall just call it 'Cheap InDesign'.

Or lock em up in court on claimed copyright infringements.

On the Illustrator vs. video, which follows, Ezra is like the nerd from Central Casting.    :rotf:
