Hello everybody!

When I have work with "architectural plans/drawings", I have difficulty with the RIP, giving the following error:

DistRIP rendering process failed

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

David

need a little more info:

what format are the "architectural plans/drawings"? are they Illustrator files, DWG, or?
what RIP are you using?

If they're PDFs generated from the architectural software, or converted like David mentioned from DWG files to another vector format, they're likely packed with so many nodes it's choking the RIP.

If you have Pitstop, start with running a few of the Actions:
– Remove irrelevant vector objects
– Remove irrelevant text objects

If it's still not moving through at a reasonable speed, try the Action "Rasterize Dense Complex Graphics" although it's set to 300dpi by Default you may want to Dupe it & up the res if not getting the result you expect.

Hopefully it's not too many of these drawings, good luck!!
A little diddie 'bout black 'n cyan...two reflective colors doin' the best they can.

I received a printing plan that already came in PDF (exported from InDesign) but I don't know the format of the original links.

I use the latest XMF version (with integrated pitstop)

I have. Do these actions come by default? (I can't find it)

In the meantime, I made a Place from the client's PDF in InDesign and exported it again (as X-1a) and it worked! Thanks

If you're updated to one of the newer versions, they're included. I find using the Search helps since there are SO many Actions built-in!

Glad ya got it to RIP, whatever moves the job right?  8)
