At Wits end and wanting advice on how to fix. (easily please).

So I've just spent the last 5+ months working on a massive project. I mean massive as this is a Heatmap designed to show us visually where things happen in our State. I have drawn the map in Illy and imported and linked to Layers and Variable Data so i can view by Name/Postcode (zip)/ distribution areas yada yada yada. see attachments.

All was going great until they now I've been informed the client wants a recap of the last few months which pushes the numbers past my range of 1% to 100% of a colour. You will see by looking at the numbers represented in the Heatmap (Let's call them beers consumed for that area) that it works perfectly except for once it goes above 100. If above 100 it only displays the first two digits for the colour %. (circled in yellow). The GrepHeatStyle script will only allow for 100 (I believe).

Looking for advice on how to display the numbers above 100 in total to be a different colour or background pattern?
I know I could change them manually but there are 420+ area variables so far and I nowhere near finished.

Any advice from you scripting pros will be greatly appreciated.

What Software do you use for Wide Format Software?
Looking at either upgrading our old ONYX RIP software to the new version 18 or swapping to Caldera Grand RIP+.

Does anyone have any real life experience with either? Or can you recommend another that I should be looking at.
Really looking to increase our speed because as you know clients can't wait.

I've been given the "only" files that the client has, which are already imposed as a Saddle Stitched book. We now have to print this book as a Perfect bound. It is imposed as 4pp Sheetwork currently, we want to print as 16pp Perfect. As i know that I can't use this impo as currently stands, I need to split to seperate pages and re-impo. Has anyone a quick workaround or option for doing this? Apart from cutting out each individual page in XMF or pitstop or worse still place back into Indy and re export.

Hope that one of you out there in the magical prepress land can help me out.

Wondering if any one can help me out. I need to find out the linearisation of the plate from an old Prinect Signa Station (Ver 11) so we can have a starting point for our new imposition software setup. Seeing as I'm not at all familiar with Prinect does anybody know where these may reside in the system? info on any Characterisation curves would also be appreciated.

I have been given the wonderful experience  of making sure our company is ISO 12647 colour compliant. This involves digital/wide format/ offset etc at 3 different sites in 3 different States. We are currently using XMF and Blackmagic for our internal impo/proofs but obviously need to incorporate the other plants as well.

Just wondering if anybody uses XMF ColourPath and has any feedback good/bad.

I have two PDF docs both 92pp each.  Because of the way we are printing them I need to merge the files together. BUT . . . I need them to be page 1 of doc A and then page 1 of doc B etc . . .

Does anybody know of a way to easily achieve this. I have tried all the usual things that I know but cant get them to merge as 1/1  2/2 etc.

Finally some action being taken regarding price gouging here in Australia. They have for years been claiming it costs more because of location.

I remember a while ago it was cheaper to buy return air fares and fly to the US to buy certain software than it was to just purchase here in Aust.

My Windows server is on its last legs and needs to be replaced soon. I was just wondering if anyone is running XMF Server on a Mac with a Windows OS partition or separate drive? I cant find any info if it is possible, but I also cant find any info to say it not possible.

Just looking at options for our plate supplier. We currently use Fuji (LPNV2) which work fine and life is peachy. Now Big Boss man has been approached by a company in China called "Zhejiang Bridgehead" that can offer the same plate/specs at a lower cost. So I've been delegated the task to see if they will fit our needs. Anybody currently use the Bridgehead plates. There seems to be not too much info on their web and my chinese is as good as my arabic.

I have a sample box of plates. We will be running a few tests late next week. So I will let you know the results when done if anyone curious.

Anybody have a solution or seen this problem before?  XMF client runs smooth and fine except when trying to check the imported PDF for document size/bleeds etc.  When clicked it opens the file in 3D viewer mode.  I have narrowed it down to a single Mac problem as other machine here are running fine.  I have done the usual rebuild permission and verified disks etc. but cant seem to fix it.

Anyone got a clue or had this happen?

G'Day crew, just wanting see if anyone out there is using XMF Remote?  I just seen the demo and must say that I'm pretty impressed with the functionality of it all. It's  something that our shop does not need now. But with a view to adapting new strategies in an ever changing market It could be a big draw card for us.  So basically just wanted to see what people who are using it think?  Has it created more problems or solved more problems? Take you time in answering, as this is my last day of shift and have the next 4 off. (drinking, fishing, surfing, camping on Stradbroke Island where Phone/Net coverage is Crap at the best of times).  So see you next Monday, look forward to the replies. 

1st time posters here with a quick questions.  Has anybody had any issues with the 4.1 upgrade.  I currently have some strange happening with the "State" of jobs in XMF not updating.  Where a job was ripped as normal, it would show 67% before being plated.  Now it is showing 50% and when the job is plated/exposed it does not show the job as "complete" in the status menu but instead keeps it as "Held before output".  Anybody else seeing this problem.  Thanks in advance for any help/advice provided.
