text variables

Not a big deal but hopefully it will save someone from freaking out and deleting their prefs like I did (good thing I keep a backup). I'm pretty stoked on the text variables in cs3 but it seems you can't use them on a file that wasn't created in cs3. I opened an old indd file from before the upgrade and tried to add a text variable but couldn't. tried it on two more cs2 files and got the same thing....

Tried it. Didn't work for me. Maybe I'm missing something. Like I said, it's a minor annoyance but it can eat some time if you don't know about it and start dumping prefs, repairing permissions, etc.
