Digital Printing / Re: Envelope Printer
January 21, 2025, 02:23:37 PM
We have an Xanté Impressia (old but still running).
We've had 4 Mach 5 (Memjet) presses over time.
And have 3 Mach 6 (Memjet) presses after the Mach 5s.

Now we have an iJet 1175 Pro (HP-1000), and it blows away the Memjets. I've only run around 10,000 on it so far. As far as the ink-smearing issue, it is not an issue. I just printed out an envelope and then immediately ran it underwater. No smearing. Just the envelope is soaked, but the image is still good. Text included. They say it will run upto 10,000 env/hour. We have yet to test that theory. But it is quite fast. Game changer.

The Rest... / Re: Connect Fonts Window Too Long

You could also tell the window to go into full-screen mode from the 'View' menu. And that should force it to be on one screen. Then, you can do anything you want until you find a way to fix the window view.

I can verify Joe, that Acrobat updates are through the app itself and not through the CC app. And now it is setup to auto update, unless you go into the settings and change it.

At work we have 2 different NASs onsite that things get backed up to. And 1 offsite. Oh, another one onsite that turns on at a set time does the backup, and then turns off again. But nothing online.

Soon that may be changing to 1 or 2 onsite and then an online option.

At home, I only backup photos to my own NAS with a RAID.

I'm what the kids call "old school", I don't like online backups or much of anything else if I can avoid it. The only thing that it has come in handy for, was backing up my phone. Then it makes it really easy to change out phones.

Keeping control of your personal data is quite hard now a days with all the online options and "needs".

Had a user in the front office that is on a Mac mini, that I apparently forgot to turn off auto updates. And then they could not access our internal network web pages for ERP and others.

Come to find out, there is a new 'Privacy & Security' setting called 'Local Network'. You will have to make sure any application (Firefox in our case) is allowed to access the local network. It was off for their computer, and once I turned it on, it worked again.

Getting tired of all these ways to make things "better".

Just leave things alone. :gom:

Here's another link I found that has a lot more of the wallpapers. But I don't see any cats from Cheetah.

And the site is still being updated with all the new OS wallpapers when they come out, to.

You should be able to.

If I remember correctly, it will be in the HotFolder for the Magnus. Even with your platesetter down, you could send your job to the Magnus which will RIP the TIF. Then go to that HotFolder on the PC, and you should have 4 TIFs if it was a 4/c job. Pull the color you want.

Never had to merge the 4 back into 1. But maybe someone else could help with that if needed.

I liked Bondi Rescue. It's cool seeing a different view of rescue than the normal ones here in the US.

Quote from: RMPrepress on July 17, 2024, 06:42:42 AMI believe the Kodak Sonora Xtra plate has fixed the issue with the image being too light.
Or at least it is better.  We will see next week when we test.
The first gen Kodak plates were quite a bit lighter than the current revision. But it is still too light for our KBA cameras. But they are working just fine for actual printing.

We used to use Windex with Vinegar to clean up the area with the codes for the cameras, but have since decided not to, as it was taking too much time for the person making plates. It was a PITA for plater anyways. All good now.

We have KBA 106s and the Kodak process free plates are too light for the autoloader feature to work on these presses. We used to run the Fuji process free plates and they were dark enough for the KBAs.

This slows the press operators down a little bit, but management is ok with it, seeing the cost difference.

Plus we got a deal on our plates through Kodak, seeing we purchased a new Magnus with a palette loader. Which is quite nice.

I believe it was all about the speed. The games on the PS5 need the speed to keep up with the graphics, especially in the beginning of the rollout of the PS5. They need to keep everyone happy with the gameplay. Maybe they will make a patch to be done with a warning that gameplay may be diminished.

But I don't know, I'm just a console gamer. PS, 2, 3, 4, 5, PSP, PTV, xBox, xBox360, Nintendo, SuperNintendo, Wii, Atari 2600.

Sorry to say, the PS5 will not run from an external. I have not fully tested that theory, as I'm still using my 4TB ext on my PS4. However, you can add a secondary internal SSD, which is what I did. Works just fine. External is to backup or move a game to, so you can free up space on the internal.

Here is what we use. This is for "booked" proofs, and we have one for color and digital.
