Macintosh / Re: Mac OS Install 2024

I've been using and abusing it on an M2 Mini with 16gb ram at home. Two different 3D printing slicers, Safari, Discord, Affinity Photo 2, and a game of modded Minecraft Java all running at once. Drags a hair unless I shut down one of the slicers or Affinity, then it's fine.

No idea about prepress performance though, got a PC at work.

Fujifilm XMF / Re: Overlapping pages lose bleed
August 23, 2024, 08:36:10 AM
I don't know about XMF, but when Quite Imposing plus imposes it uses XObjects and sometimes masks and can do similar stuff. Like when I first started doing manual impo with it, I had to double the spacing, or half the bleed or the second one down would cover the first one down, if going left to right. Which is different than if you step and repeat with the built in function, it masks each object off to half the gutter so it works right.

Ah ok, that makes more sense now. Don't think that'll work this time, though.

Here ya go. Nothing fancy. This removed the entire background image.

That's what I said in my first answer, I don't think you can select it or change it's color in this one. Looks like the dieline is on an image, not a vector.

Zoom in on the bottom right of the dieline, theres pixelization and artifacting.

OH, you want to delete it. I thought you wanted to change it's color. I got it to work with defining a region in the bottom center and remove selection. Drew a little rectangle, choose objects inside or overlapping region, and remove selection.

So you're trying to change the die line to magenta or a magenta colored spot? Object Browser seems to think that die line is on a background image. When I try and select it with the selection tool in Pitstop it grabs the entire background of the page. May not be able to select the die line...or I could have too much blood in my alcohol stream.

By the time I get to using flash drives on weeknights, I've effectively been working 12-14 hours. Not the time to decide to work with one printer but not the other, or just stop reading part way through the print, causing the machine to just stop and a needing a rerun. I've also had alot of orders in and needed every print, so yeah, not a great time to flash drive BS lol. And these were Sandisk drives, not cheap generic ones.

I'm still on a 12, the iPad is a 7th gen, so still lots of lightning cables and crap. But other stuff around the house like my off brand ear buds has USB-C.

Don't get me started on flash drives. I 3D resin print on Etsy for a side gig, so I'm plugging those into a port on the side at the back of printer all the time. Ran 5 machines last night, and by the time I got done with flash drives I needed a drink.

USB A and USB B will die out it looks like, but C should be around for a while. I just want them to get everybody's everything on something that plugs in no matter how it's facing.

It'll go smooth and fine. So long as you sign away your soul and first born to Adobe, that is.
