Digital Printing / Re: Envelope Printer
January 18, 2025, 12:15:08 PM
Quote from: DigiCorn on January 16, 2025, 04:09:57 PMWe're looking for a new one too. But our budget is under $50,000. The bosses prefer a toner based... finding lots of inkjets. Any pluses or minuses to having an inkjet vs. toner?

We currently have an IntoPrint MP200. The newer model of this same printer (fuser based) is only $5500. We already have the feeder and catcher.
The one big drawback with inkjet is that the ink smears when the envelope gets wet or damp.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Hopefully somebody smarter will chime in soon.

I like Bondi Vet. It's a show about local veterinarians. Not applicable, I know, but beautiful scenery in that locale.

Flash drives - that's a drinking excuse I haven't heard of yet. Props to you for thinking up a new one.

You're never noticed until something goes wrong.

We had a word like that: styme. That plate has styme on it. What's styme? Look at your watch.

Likewise with smatter.

I already saw a thread on another site where people are looking for Photoshop alternatives because of this, and that's for private use.

I got that for a year as well, but I don't remember who got hacked in my case. It wasn't United Healthcare.

We had a proof stamp as well. It had two boxes to check, OK as is or OK with changes. We quit having the second box because we always gave customers another proof after any changes. It also had a signature line.

And no matter how careful you are, somebody will get hacked, like Target or that health insurance place a couple of years ago.

I've gotten that message a time or two from somewhere. My favorite e-mail account got spread around many years ago, but the spam e-mail from that is long gone. I recently got a message of some kind of data breach from a place handling gas leases, but they said the database that was hacked didn't have any really important stuff. About all you can do is keep changing passwords.

I always wanted a Maine Coon. I wouldn't need the help though. I get enough from my black domestic short hair. She wants to be on the desk while I'm working and there's no room. I put her on my lap but that's not good enough. Fussy!

Sometimes it's just the smallest things that can trip you up. Stuff you wouldn't think about. Going way, way back, I worked second shift with an AM Varityper. When I came to work, I found out they had been waiting all day for a fixit guy to come from 75 miles away. They couldn't get the thing to load the software from the 8-in. program floppie. I just happened to see that the caps lock was on, so I took it off, tried the load button, and whaddya know?

You should have seen the look on the boss' face when I told him what was wrong. Saved them the cost of a service call.

You get fat enough eating cheese and you won't feel the cold.
