Give 'em a raise at least.
It only takes one "aw shit" to wipe out a whole bunch of "atta boys".

Careful what you wish for.
I swear any and all problems that we have had for the past many years were self inflicted by IT.
Our own worst enemy that acts like they are a separate company.
They don't even cooperate or communicate with each other.
So, yeah, maybe you are better off than you think Tracy.
It went ZIP when it moved
And BOP when it stopped
And WHIRRRRRRR when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will

My old workplace had the best IT department ever. I never disagreed with them once! :rotf:

Our IT is so strict, I can't even author new scripts and add them to my Acrobat or InDesign without their permission. Hell, they won't even let us install a printer.
I don't feel tardy...

Much like Joe did I am the prepress manager and handle the IT so i have full control over prepress updates and upgrades etc.
I cant imagine having to request to do things through an IT dept. head.

Back to Pitstop, we are running 2024 on all our workstations and i just recently updated them to macOS Sonoma one by one and all is well.  We also use the 2024 Pitstop Workgroup Manager which is real time saver for managing license's and sharing action lists etc.

Only bug i would mention is not Pitstop related it is with the latest version Acrobat DC (surprise, surprise), it has a bug or problem with guides and rulers that we prepress folk will find very upsetting.

When rulers are turned on, the edges of pages get covered by the rulers and when grabbing guides from rulers or moving existing  guides you can not see the guide until you let go of it with your mouse.
This bug has existed for months and Adobe has still not fixed it yet.
I have been on the Adobe communities page complaining about it and others have joined in with me but Adobe's reply is "we are working on it" LOL
Anyone else see this issue?

I have noticed in Pitstop with DC that the guides are invisible until you drop them.
I was hoping that Acro 24 with Pitstop 24 would be better... waiting for IT to come to work some day so I can have a PW to update them... :fingersdrumming:

Is Ventura the latest OS? or Sonoma?

Joe

Guides were invisible in Acrobat DC until you drop them before I retired 2 1/2 years ago. Good to see Adobe is still right on schedule.

Oh great, sorry to be in the pitstop thread but any issues with Sonoma with Acro RM?

All I have is Acrobat Reader but it works fine. LOL

Joe is right about the guides in Acrobat problem, it has been a around a while.
What happens is we use old versions of Acrobat to not be subject to these changes and bugs but sooner or later you need to be using the latest or close to it.
We have 2 workstations using an old version of Acrobat and 2 others with the new.
The rulers hiding the tops of the pages is more of an issue than the guides... but the guides thing does suck.

Tracy, Sonoma and Acrobat w/Pitstop 2024 are running great...except for what i noted on the latest versions of Acrobat.
Stay with the old version of Acrobat for as long as you can i guess.

My versiobn of Acrobat is 2024.002.20736.
Also you may want to disable the NEW Acrobat under the view settings in the menu bar as Acrobat has now got a new version in kind of a BETA mode and they allow you to turn it off... which we did.  It defaults to the new view of course.

No idea if reader has guides. Probably not. I was talking about Acrobat DC 2 1/2 years ago.

Is that just a Mac thing? If I drag a guide in Acro DC for Windows 10, I see a shadow until I drop it.
