USB-C should be around for quite a while, computers, phones, tablets, etc... are full of C.
And didn't the E.U. tell Apple they need to get rid of their charge port and switch to C as well?

Apple has been on USB-C for at least a few years. My new iPad, the kids' iPads, my wife's new iPhone and MacBook are all USB-C. My work laptop and the docking station are also all USB-C.

iPhone 14 Pro is still a lightning port (what I have), the 15 Pro is a USB C.

I wish they would just pick one and go for it.

I hate them anyway, I always go to put them in wrong
and ALWAYS have to flip them the other way.
but the cord always wants to go that way, so it's akward  ;D

I have like 18 lighting cords, but now I had to go out and buy 18 USB-Cs. Does anyone need any lightning cords? Some are Amazonbasics branded and most of them are 10-ft with a USB-A on one end. I have a whole drawer full of cables and USB-A blocks I am phasing out. I ended up buying these for vacations and such...

It's actually not that funny when you go through those exact steps every time you attempt to plug one in. >:(

I also have a drawer in my toolbox that has about 1,800 Allen wrenches of various sizes. Every time we buy something new that requires assembly, it comes with an Allen wrench, and I can't bear to throw them away.

hahahha same with the cheap allen keys, I either put them in the piece of furniture for future tightening or they go in a jar with 40 others on my garage workbench.
How many 5mm allen keys do I need ffs?

I'm still on a 12, the iPad is a 7th gen, so still lots of lightning cables and crap. But other stuff around the house like my off brand ear buds has USB-C.

Don't get me started on flash drives. I 3D resin print on Etsy for a side gig, so I'm plugging those into a port on the side at the back of printer all the time. Ran 5 machines last night, and by the time I got done with flash drives I needed a drink.
It only takes one "aw shit" to wipe out a whole bunch of "atta boys".

Flash drives - that's a drinking excuse I haven't heard of yet. Props to you for thinking up a new one.
Tall tree, short ropes, fix stupid.

By the time I get to using flash drives on weeknights, I've effectively been working 12-14 hours. Not the time to decide to work with one printer but not the other, or just stop reading part way through the print, causing the machine to just stop and a needing a rerun. I've also had alot of orders in and needed every print, so yeah, not a great time to flash drive BS lol. And these were Sandisk drives, not cheap generic ones.

Ok, I'm seriously thinking about doing the install
does anyone know of any issues with Sonoma?

I have not had any prepress issues with it since I installed it. :rotf:
