Airport extreme

I have my 20" Imac plugged into my router via ethernet port and want to hook up a couple other macs I have at home to the interweb via a airport base station but I seem to be missing something as I can't get my Imac to connect (I want to leave it hardwired but disconnected it to test the airport) wtf am I doing wrong?

any ideas on what to look for? I bought the station used with no doc's so any set up info would be helpfull.

Airport turned on at the iMac. (You never know)

Can it see the airport base station?

Are your other macs seeing it?
