I work for a small shop and we use 2 HP5000 LaserJets to print onto Polyester plates. We've recently gotten a HP5100 and it doesn't want to play nice with Adobe CS3. If we send a file to it, it will spool and then disappear, sometimes. I can't say there are any particular things different with the files it decides to prints and the files it drops. Does anyone know of any known compatibility issues with CS3? Also, would we be better off sticking with the HP5000s? We're not in any real need up upgrading to bigger equipment so we're trying to make do with what we have. Thanks.

We have the 5100 also but not for plates. I've seen it occasionally do this to the 5100. It seems most of the time it's a complex page on an older Mac (G4) with not much ram (1.5 gb). Our fix is to export a PDF and print it from Acrobat.

I'll try exporting a PDF and printing that and see if it gets us by. The files that drop out are all sent from a older PC so that might be the culprit. I appreciate the response.
